Regional Hearing Centre Changes Effective July 1, 2009

In order to provide better service to the community, the Tribunal will make some changes to our regional hearing centres.  As of July 1, 2009, the Tribunal will schedule hearings in Oshawa and Hamilton on a regular basis.  The Tribunal has conducted hearings in St. Catharines for some years but the number of hearing requests from the Hamilton area is much greater than from the St. Catharines area.   We cannot support both locations so the Tribunal has made the decision to discontinue hearings in St. Catharines as of July 1, 2009.  Parties from the St. Catharines area will be offered hearing dates, including reconvening dates, in Hamilton.  Tribunal hearings in Hamilton are held at the Sheraton Hotel located at 116 King Street West.   Hearings in Oshawa will be held at the Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre at 1011 Bloor St. East.

The changes reflect the Tribunal’s commitment to being responsive to the needs of the community and to reduce wait times for hearing dates.
