Canada Post’s mail and XpressPost courier services have resumed. Effective December 19, 2024, the date services will be restored to the WSIAT, we will be able to send and receive regular mail and packages via XpressPost.
Limitation periods and procedural timelines that expired during the Canada Post strike, November 15, 2024 - December 16, 2024, will resume on December 19, 2024. The revised deadlines will reflect the amount of time that remained in the time limit on November 15, 2024. As of December 19, 2024, all parties will be subject to the limitation periods in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997, and expected to comply with procedural timelines in the WSIAT’s Practice Directions.
It is the responsibility of all parties to calculate and meet their revised time limits or procedural deadlines. Information about how the WSIAT calculates time generally is set out in the WSIAT’s Practice Direction #35 – Calculation of Time.
Please note that it will take time for Canada Post to return to their regular service standards for delivery. E-Share and E-File are still the most efficient ways of communicating with us.
